AVKO can help Adult Literacy Organizations AVKO will present workshops at Adult Literacy Conferences. Don McCabe spoke at the COABE conference in Houston, Texas April 26-28, 2006. You might want to watch him take an adult dyslexic and in a matter of minutes get him to instantly read the word malicious! The video is available in DVD and as a download from our website. Click on Freebies Workshops may be tailored for individual organizations to accommodate specific needs and requests. Any literacy volunteer (or adult literacy educator) who visits the AVKO Foundation's Free Reading Clinic will receive free a minimum of $25.00 worth of new trade books. AVKO's Bernice Webb Memorial Library housed at the Reading Clinic provides an extensive collection of books on the teaching of reading as well as an extensive collection of books for reading.
